Community Conversations

Exploring Issues of Civic Responsibility

Community Conversations Facing History and Ourselves and The Allstate Foundation present a series of community-wide dialogues across the US. Prominent scholars, authors, filmmakers, and policy leaders will speak and participate in discussions about civic engagement, individual and collective responsibility and tolerance.



Facing History and Ourselves recently completed our spring 2010 series of Community Conversations that included seven great events featuring Congressman John Lewis, Daniel Goldhagen, Artemis Joukowsky, Nicholas Kristof, Judy Shepard, and Sheryl WuDunn. The events were attended by over 2,400 students, educators, and community members, and Facing History partnered with over 25 other local community organizations to help share these events with new audiences.
