The LA Progressive Highlights Facing History's Community Conversation featuring Judy Shepard
In an article about the history of hate crime legislation, the LA Progress highlights our upcoming Community Conversation event on May 17 in Los Angeles, featuring Judy Shepard. In 1998, Shepard lost her son, Matthew, to a murder motivated by anti-gay hate. Turning tragedy into a crusade for justice, and determined to prevent Matthew’s fate from befalling others, she established The Matthew Shepard Foundation.
