New York
Since the New York office opened in 1993, more than 3,000 area educators have participated in Facing History’s professional development workshops. These teachers annually reach over 250,000 middle and high school students in over 700 public, independent, and religious schools throughout the metropolitan area. Many of these schools are implementing Facing History as a way to engage students in their own learning and develop civic skills.
Through nine offices in North America, an international hub in London, and educational partnerships that span the globe, Facing History has established itself as the premier educational organization delivering high-quality classroom strategies, content, and lessons for teachers and students.
Changing School Culture
“The level of emotional and intellectual engagement was so evident on the faces of my students . . . nothing can be more gratifying as a teacher. Many students afterwards commented on how moved they were; one often disaffected, disengaged student pronounced the experience "amazing."

Speaking at Facing History's 1996 New York benefit dinner, she seeks to understand how a person becomes a bystander who chooses not to see or not to act in the face of injustice. |
