Kamara J. interprets Samuel Bak's painting The Family, on the cover of the guide Facing History and Ourselves prepared for the movie Schindler's list. Speaking at Facing History's 1996 New York benefit dinner, she seeks to understand how a person becomes a bystander who chooses not to see or not to act in the face of injustice.
